Wrapqarw [wrap wrap]Development Story
“Recycle”
There are lots of scraps of high quality wood that are wasted during our furniture manufacturing process. Naoto was unhappy with the amount of waste and came up with an idea to turn this precious wood into a new product.
“Too long”
Naoto loves consumer electronics and music. One day he was taking a walk and enjoying music using German portable head phones that he had just purchased when he realized that the cable was too long to enjoy his music."
“Idea”
At that time, Naoto thought "It would be interesting if I make a wire management tool using wood. The idea of wrapping something digital around something analogue made Naoto excited. "I would like to add some warmth to the digital with the wood."
“Then”
Naoto started with prototyping. "What kind of shape should it be? What is the good method to manage cables?" Naoto went through several iterations of prototyping until he reached to the final conclusion. Then wrapqarw[wrap wrap] was born.
“And”
Wrapqarw[wrap wrap] expanded its product lines by adding more sizes and materials. Although we switched from jigsaw process to mechanical process after going through revisions, at the final stage of production, we use sand paper to create round edges for finish. When we use woods that are not from furniture manufacturing to create wrap wrap, we have found a successful formula that creates no scraps during manufacturing.
